EDUCATIONAL
OFFERINGS
For a list of education
courses available from the Real Estate Commission http://www.maine.gov/pfr/professionallicensing/professions/real_estate/education.htm
You will need 21 credits to
renew your license. When
registering, be ready to provide your real estate license #.
All the classes sponsored
by the Mid-Coast Board will be FREE this year.
This is only Mid-Coast sponsored classes, not
all classes available in
We are now connected to the
MREIS Key Card system so you can sign up for Mid-Coast courses on line or
download your certificates after completion of the class at https://www.mainelistings.com/ExternalSites/CTE/Login
. You will need to use your key card
before and after the classes.
CLASS ARRIVAL POLICY The
Real Estate Commission REQUIRES that attendees spend the FULL 3 HOURS at
the class. There is no grace
period. Use of the key cards to
sign in and out means that the time you sign in and out is recorded.
This information could be requested by the MREC when reviewing your
education record. If the board or
other educator is found to be allowing attendees to come late or leave early we
could lose the ability to get credits for our classes.
Therefore, please be aware that you MUST arrive on time for
classes. Give yourself enough time
to arrive even if something unexpected happens like road construction, flat
tires or unexpected traffic. There are NO acceptable excuses for arriving
late. Calling to say you are in the
parking lot is not going to get your key card in the system before the class.
We will be sorry for your experience and understand your irritation, but
we will not be able to accept any excuse. If
you arrive late you can attend the class but not receive credits.
If you opt not to take the class you will be charged $20.
These classes are important to your profession, please give them the
attention they deserve and give yourself enough time to arrive and sign in
before the class, allowing for some unexpected event during your trip.
PRINTING CLASS
MATERIALS The Real Estate
Commission approval for classes includes the class materials.
If you don’t have the class materials during the class you are not
fulfilling the requirements of the course, and you will not receive credits. The
materials are available on line at www.midcoastrealtors.net,
usually within one week of the class. You
can download them into a laptop or PDA devise and bring it to the class, or
print a copy to bring. If
you have difficulty you can contact

The Coastal Mountain Council is trying to get a group of folks together to take the broker course this winter. There are already six agents, and are looking for a total of ten. You don’t need to be in the Coastal Council to take the course, but you need the prerequisites of the Real Estate Commission. If you are interested in participating contact Nancy Hughes 236-9626 nhughes@jaretcohn.com
NEW
YEARS’ TIP FOR POSITIVE BUSINESS PRACTICE.
●Remember,
getting positive or negative feedback from a showing is always a great
opportunity to keep in contact with your seller.
●Give
feedback after you have had a showing with another brokers’ listing, no matter
how simple the message may be. You
will appreciate the return favor of such a simple, easy and positive
professional business practice when your listing is shown.
